royalverse fili and kili

caroline and i have been headcanoning this amazing au where the durins survive the bofa (of course) and enjoy their newfound wealth and kingdom vastly

here's a direct quote explaining my colour choices (because my lack of colour combination prowess needs an in-canon explanation):

baradrum: so i guess we can add to the royalverse that fili and kili are colourblind or just colour unconscious but insist on picking out everything they wear so they come out looking funky sometimes but they don't care because they're still gorgeous together
baradrum: like while going through the bins of gems and stuff that the jewel crafters have presented they'll see something and be like 'hey put that on a belt with some diamonds and shit that'll look awesome' but they're wrong
baradrum: or maybe MAYBE
baradrum: it's just kili who is colourblind and though fili tries to help sometimes when kili wants something on a belt he..he really wants it and whines about it so instead of trying to have him make better colour combination choices fili makes similarly bad choices (but not QUITE as bad because he actually has a pretty good eye for these things) so that at least people will think that they're both idiots
